The Knoll Surgery Prescribing Policy : alignment work
From July, the surgery will be undertaking work that will align all repeat prescriptions to a standard 28 day amount. This will not affect the majority. We aim to ensure that we are acting in concordance with our own practice prescribing policy. Our prescribing policy is written in accordance with regional Cheshire & Merseyside Prescribing Committee guidance. The policy is required by the Care Quality Commission and is available to our inspecting bodies, including the ICB, the Prescribing Committee, and the CQC.
We apologise if any changes cause dissatisfaction. We wish to draw attention to ways that can improve patient experience when ordering repeat prescriptions, and minimise costs for those who pay for prescriptions.
Please be aware of the following:
- The NHS smartphone app is now the easiest way to order a repeat prescription.
- You may have a medical condition (eg. hypothyroidism) that qualifies you for exemption of prescription charges. Apply for exemption using form FP92A which is available at the surgery. Find more information about this here:

- You may be able to save money on prescription charges by purchasing a prepayment certificate (PPC). Always ensure that your certificate is in date when collecting medicines. Read about this and apply for a PPC here:
